 The Education Development and Research Center (EDRC)

The Education and Development Center was established in 2004 by the teachers of the American Academy in Tbilisi  – graduates of Harvard University and Simmons College.  Its purpose is to share with Georgian educators innovative teaching methodology and school management tools.  All instruction and materials instructors use in their courses have been developed with a view to the realities of Georgian education today.  Over the last four years the Center has conducted six series of seven-week trainings for 260 teachers and administrators from Tbilisi secondary schools and two regional seminars in Telavi and Kutaisi, supported with a grant from the State Department, drawing 250 teachers from the areas.
