College Visits to the GZ American Academy in Tbilisi Dear parents, The American Academy in Tbilisi regularly hosts visits of different university representatives from around the world. Students at these meetings have the opportunity to meet and personally talk to the Deans and representatives of admission offices of European and American universities. The guests are always open to answer general questions about admission and application processes and address your individual concerns. While the answers regarding the financial aid available for your children can rarely be exact, you can still ask questions about the procedures. The meetings have so far proved to be productive and interesting. We strongly encourage your children and you as well to attend these meetings and get the answers from experts. Here are some of the reasons why you and your children should attend these meetings: Attending these meetings will increase your awareness of application process in general; You get the chance to get the answers to the questions concerning the application requirements of the specific college or university represented; In most cases, if you are particularly interested in the college or university that is being represented, your child can personally talk to the admission persons and they do remember your name, your face, and the conversation you had. Thus, it’s already the first step taken towards your child’s application; You’ll get to understand that there are actual human beings standing on the other side of the process and they do care about you; You children can ask the actual admissions person about their personal essays.
While we encourage any Academy student to attend these meetings, we strongly recommend juniors and seniors not to miss them. The announcements about the college visits will appear in Daily Reports, on the Counseling Section of our Web Site, GZAAT Gazette, etc. Looking forward to seeing you at these meetings
