Entering students must be have successfully completed eight years of schooling and be 13 to 14 years of age. We do not accept students beyond the ninth grade, except in special cases where a student has had a successful stint in a US, UK, or European school. Since English will be the primary language of instruction, entering students must demonstrate intermediate fluency and a record of academic achievement that prepares them to undertake a rigorous course of studies. Admission to the Academy is initially based on two tests, each of which is independently scored: On the basis of scores on these tests, a selection of students will be invited to take an Essay Test administered by the English department and an Interview conducted by the administration. Results from the essay and interview will determine the final selection of the incoming freshmen class. In addition, applicants must submit the following. - A current transcript of student's grades.
- Recommendations in signed/sealed envelops from two current teachers and/or a director.
- A brief statement in English written in long hand on a separate sheet of paper and describing why the student wishes to attend the Academy.
- A current photo taped to the application.
